The Florida Carpenters Regional Council was well-represented at an international gathering recently to honor two retiring leaders of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Douglas Banes, UBC General Vice President, and Andris Silins, UBC General Secretary-Treasurer, both retired this spring, after each built an outstanding career of service and leadership - for the UBC’s half-million members - over several decades. Attending the UBC’s retirement gala to honor these leaders on behalf of the Florida Carpenters Regional Council were EST James Banks, State Training Director Jimmie Jordan, South Florida Area Manager Frank D’Angelo, Central Florida Area Manager Matt Swanson, and Senior Consultant Franklin Gray.
